About this Episode

In this episode, I interview founder of Tax Savvy Jessica and Tax Strategist, Jessica Smith, who specializes in guiding 6-figure coaches and consultants to save on their taxes every year as an Enrolled Agent. Jessica’s prowess for finances started at birth … literally, when she was born just before her father’s first tax season as a Tax Attorney and CPA. In high school her father began having her help with the business by doing accounting and some bookkeeping here and there, where she gained valuable experience and work ethic. While she tried her hand at a few other careers, she kept coming back to her love of accounting and helping others to make the most of what they earn, as a means to invest it back into their own families. After beginning her career in the tumultuous escrow field, Jessica took her skill set to the corporate world where she worked as a tax strategist for legal professionals; while working as a single mother, she grew her own practice on the side ultimately spearheading her later leap into self-employment.

Listen to our interview, filled with practical wisdom on everything from giving your children the gift of practical experience and the model of work ethic by including them in your business, to listening to your own voice first as the parenting expert for your family’s unique dynamic. Jessica shares her insights on the importance of cutting the cord and getting off the fence when you’re clinging to the safety net of your day job before you pursue your daydream and the need to have cheerleaders in the often lonely world of entrepreneurship. This episode will leave you feeling inspired to take the leap and become the master of your dream career instead of the jack of none. Tune-in and stop funding your day dream with your day job; it’s time to cut the cord, or at the very least, it’s time to have a tax strategist make sure your money is working as hard for you as you are for it.
